Dress Code & Policies

  • Ballet/Pre-Pointe/Pointe Classes: Ages 7+ all students must wear black leotards, pink tights and pink slippers. Hair must be pulled back away from the face in a bun/ponytail. No tutus and no ballet skirts. Boys/Men must wear black dance pants or shorts, white t-shirts and black for all dance genres.

  • Ballet/Combo Classes: Ages 6 and under all students must wear a leotard of any color/any style, pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Hair must be pulled back away from the face in a bun/ponytail. Any ballet skirt must be attached to the leotard.

  • Jazz/Tap: All ages any style/color leotard, boy/booty shorts, bra/cami/tank tops. Hair must be pulled back away from the face in a ponytail or bun. Tan tap shoes. Tan jazz boots (Capezio CG06).

  • Lyrical/Modern/Contemporary: All ages any style/color leotard, boy/booty shorts, bra/cami/tank tops. Hair must be pulled back away from the face in a ponytail or bun. Bare feet or Foot Undeez.

  • Hip Hop: All ages must wear black high top CONVERSE sneakers with white trim around the soles. Hair pulled back in a ponytail. Any style/color sports bra, basketball shorts, boy/booty shorts, sweatpants, t-shirts, and knee socks are all acceptable. No sweatshirts or hoodies during class. They will be allowed during warm-up ONLY! Layering is strongly suggested.

  • Boys/Men: Must wear black dance pants or black shorts, white t-shirts and black shoes for all dance genres with the exception of lyrical, which will be bare feet or Foot Undeez.

  • You must wear proper dance shoes to all classes. Any student not prepared for class will not be allowed to participate in class.

  • No jewelry/accessories of any kind (except stud earrings).

  • Teacher reserves the right not to allow students in class ten minutes after class begins.

  • If a student misses 3 or more classes within a bi-monthly period or if they miss more then 5 classes in a dance year, a student's class level will/may be jeopardized and performance opportunities will be limited/terminated.

  • Observation of classes is at the discretion of the instructor. (Viewing times will vary based on the maturity of the class.)

  • Students, parents and siblings are expected to be respectful of the facility, the faculty/teachers, and each other, at all times.

  • No food or drink allowed at any time, including sippy cups, cheerios, etc in the dance rooms. Please limit any snacking to the yellow room. Please be respectful and pick up after your child/youself at all times.

  • DAC reserves the right to dismiss, without recourse, any student or parent, who does not adhere to our policies, without refund.

    • General Information

    Our school year runs from August to June with the following holidays and vacations observed:

  • Labor Day Weekend (Sat., Sun., Mon.)
  • Columbus Day
  • Thanksgiving recess (Wed., Thurs., Fri., Sat., Sun.)
  • Christmas recess
  • February recess
  • Easter weekend (Fri., Sat., Sun.)
  • April recess
  • Memorial weekend (Sat., Sun., Mon.)

    Class cancellations will be announced on WEIM 1280AM -you may also call the studio. There are no refunds or credits on cancelled or missed classes. Make-ups will be offered at the discretion of the director.

    Liability

    Dance Arts Centre and its faculty are not liable for injury nor loss or damage to personal property. Parents and/or students are responsible for informing instructors or the Director of any physical limitations.

    Registration/Tuition

  • Registration fee: $25.00 (non-refundable)
  • Tuition for the year is payable in six installments as follows:

    August 1 (for Aug)
    September 1 (for Sept & Oct)
    November 1 (for Nov & Dec)
    January 1 (for Jan & Feb)
    March 1 (for Mar & Apr)
    May 1 (for May & June)

  • Nonpayment of tuition is subject to a $15.00 late fee after 10 days and $5.00 weekly thereafter.
  • Multiple class rates and special family rates are available, please inquire at the office.
  • Class time schedules change seasonally.
  • Cash, Check or MasterCard/Visa accepted ($50.00 minimum on charge cards)
  • $25.00 returned check fee. No checks accepted after second offense.
